Are you a state legislator or regulator considering policy tools to stimulate cost-effective energy savings? An end-use customer in need of financing to pay for the upfront costs of retrofits? A manager seeking to remove barriers to energy efficiency in your company or organization? Please join us for a new webinar that addresses the challenges of obtaining affordable capital for energy use improvements in households, businesses and institutions.
This series is brought to you by the State Energy Efficiency Action Network (SEE Action), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and the Yale Center for Business and the Environment’s Clean Energy Finance Forum.
Our first webinar in this series will define key terms in energy efficiency finance. We will discuss the rationales behind financing approaches such as Energy Performance Contracts (EPC), Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) and On Bill Repayment (OBR). We will also highlight the strengths and weaknesses of various sources of capital and the role of credit enhancement and financial products.
Mark D. Zimring is the primary author of the SEE Action Energy Efficiency Financing Program Implementation Primer.  Until recently Mark was a Program Manager in the Electricity Markets and Policy (EMP) at LBNL.  In this role, he performed research, analysis, and provided technical assistance to utility commissions, state and local governments. His efforts were focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy, including policy, program design, and financing. In November 2013 he took a new role as Project Director of Conservation Investments at The Nature Conservancy.  He maintains a limited appointment at LBNL. Prior to joining LBNL, Mark spent eight years working in finance at Deutsche Bank.
The Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) is pleased to present Blueprint for Efficiency, our fourth annual webinar series on energy efficiency, which will continue to emphasize the latest opportunities for energy efficiency. Through presentations from leaders in the corporate, nonprofit, and public-private arenas, we will explore energy efficiency through the lenses of behavior, policy, finance, and technology. Webinars are free and open to the public. Each presentation is recorded and available through Yale University’s iTunesU channel.
