Iliana Lazarova is an Insurance Fellow at Growald Family Fund. At Yale she focused on renewable energy and environmental entrepreneurship. Before coming to Yale, she was working on education activities promoting social participation. She was a teacher in a middle school working with underprivileged students while at the same time she served as the Bulgarian Youth Delegate to the United Nations. Over the past year, Iliana was a project manager for the crowdfunding platform Greenhero.com that promotes citizen participation in support of low-carbon projects. She also gained first- hand experience on energy management and operations efficiency issues in the utility company Alcatel Lucent. Iliana aspires to develop professionally in the areas of renewable energy finance and corporate sustainability. She is interested in the potential of entrepreneurs to solve global environmental and social challenges such as energy access and water shortages. In her leisure time she enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures. Iliana holds a B.A. in International Economic Relations and her academic experience include national and international academic institutions such as Barnard College, Columbia University.
